The gallery space

When looking for a space to do the exhibition, I narrowed it down to 2 areas: Shoreditch or Spitalfields. I love the buzz and creative hub found in East London. I used to live in Hackney years ago, so I was familiar with the area and have always loved strolling down Brick Lane looking for vintage treasures.
I found the Old Truman Brewery, which owns large warehouses and loft type buildings around the area, so thru them I found a space at 4 Wilkes Street, which is a beautifully preserved Georgian street off Brick Lane, in Spitalfields’ historic quarter. Its not a gallery, just a cool empty space perfect for my large scale paintings because its very big, neutral and beautiful with white walls, high ceilings and concrete floors.
Spitalfields’ historic quarter is a small grid of prime roads sandwiched between the market and Brick Lane. It’s an enclave of such perfectly preserved Georgian houses that it feels as though you’ve stepped back 300 years. Here are a few photos:
